The CEI Health Physics Technologies program prepares graduates to use industry standard safety principals, concepts and practices to provide contamination and radiation exposure control using a variety of monitoring, sampling and analytical equipment. Program Length:

  • Earn an Intermediate Technical Certificate (ITC) in two full-time semesters (9 months).
  • Program start date: Fall semester (August) of each year

In addition to the Intermediate Technical Certificate (ITC), successful students earn industry recognized certifications:

  • DOE 1122-2009 Radiation Core Exam
  • DOE 1122-2009 Radiological Control Technician Site Academics Exam
  • HAZWOPER Certification

Application Process

We are excited to assist you with your application and journey to becoming a Radiological Technician! Health Physics Technologies is a competitive entry program. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. There is no waiting list for this program and applicants must reapply each year.

All applicants must complete the following steps to be considered for the Health Physics Technologies program:

  1. Complete the general CEI Registration process
  2. Submit a Health Physics Technology application and video

HPT applications are open year-round. Submit by April 1st to start the following fall semester.
