Center for New Directions Overview
The Center for New Directions (CND) at the College of Eastern Idaho is here to help students and community members by providing personalized support and access to resources that foster academic, professional, and personal growth.
CND offers free services to all CEI students, with a focus on those who are navigating life transitions or overcoming personal and educational barriers. Whether you're exploring new career paths, developing essential study skills, managing test anxiety, or seeking guidance to stay on track while in school, our counselors are here to help. We work closely with everyone to identify their needs and connect them to valuable campus and community resources.
CND is a resource available to all students, dedicated to supporting your success in school. While CND serves the entire student body, it also focuses on reaching and providing additional support to specific student populations, including:
- Non-Traditional
- A gender-specific non-traditional student is defined as an individual whose gender comprises less than 25% of the workforce in their chosen field of study. For instance, women pursuing careers in the trades or men entering the health professions.
- Single Parent
- A Single Parent is someone with primary financial and custodial responsibility for supporting dependent children.
- Displaced Homemakers
- A Displaced Homemaker is a person who has worked in the home providing household services for family members but has lost the primary source of economic support.
