Account Holds
- Business Office Hold: Indicates that the student has a past due balance that must be resolved before registration can proceed
- ECP Academic Hold: Indicates that a student must meet with their CEI academic advisor. Students can make an appointment here.
Dropping/Withdrawing
CEI allows students to change their registration within designated deadlines. Students complete a drop/withdraw form and submit it to ecp@cei.edu. The student will receive communication from the Early College office when their request has been processed.
Accessing Transcripts
- Unofficial transcripts are available to students in their CEI Self-Service account or by emailing a request to ecp@cei.edu. Email requests must include student full name, date of birth, and high school.
- Official transcripts can be ordered online using the National Student Clearinghouse. There is a $10-$12 fee for each official transcript. Orders can be sent by mail or electronically to the transcript destination. Students need to know their SSN or CEI ID# to order official transcripts.
DualEnroll Basics
DualEnroll is the system used to register Early College students for CEI courses. Students, counselors, and instructors have access to the system and responsibilities within the workflow. Users can view registration status, make approvals, or verify information in this shared system.

Registration Process
- Student requests a class.
- Counselor verifies student meets CEI's requirements for participation.
- Course pre-requisites are uploaded by student or counselor (if applicable).
- Counselor or instructor confirm student enrollment.
Counselor: Verify Eligibility
Please use the student’s most recent GPA and grade level.
Minimum eligibility:
- 9th and 10th graders - 3.0 high school GPA required
- 11th and 12th graders – 2.7 high school GPA recommended
Counselor: Upload Transcript (if applicable)
Upload the student’s high school transcript directly into DualEnroll. CEI staff will evaluate the transcript and determine if requirements are met. If requirements are not satisfied, the student will receive notification in DualEnroll.

- Petition for exception to academic policy

Student: Resolve Registration Issue
Students are given this step if there is an issue with their registration. Please encourage students to read their email notifications from DualEnroll (including notes).
- This step is the responsibility of the student.
Counselor/Instructor: Confirm Enrollment
- For dual credit courses taken at a high school location or IDLA, this step is completed by the course instructor. Counselors can view.
- For courses taken directly through CEI, counselor will confirm that the student has permission to register for the selected course(s).

CEI academic advisement is focused on student success, intentional experiences, and collaboration with high school partners. Early College students benefit from support from all directions! We are committed to enhancing the dual credit experience by providing access to authentic college support services to students and our high school partners.
CEI Early College Program encourage college advisement for all students with more than 15 college credits.
What goals are available?
Associate of Science
Complete 60 college credits during high school. An ambitious but achievable goal with consistent support and collaboration between CEI and the high school counselor/CCA. Great for students focused on STEM or healthcare degrees and pathways.
Associate of Arts
Complete 60 college credits during high school. An ambitious but achievable goal with consistent support and collaboration between CEI and the high school counselor/CCA. Great for students focused on business, social sciences, education, and other transfer degrees and pathways.
Program Prerequisites
Complete specific courses required for selective college programs (e.g. nursing, dental hygiene, cybersecurity)
Dual + 1
Complete 1 year of college during high school and finish in one year after graduation
Getting Ahead
Complete one or a few college classes in high school. Develop confidence in academic ability and establish momentum for future goals after high school.
