INBRE: Biomedical Research Opportunities at CEI
The College of Eastern Idaho is a member of the Idaho Idea Network for Biomedical Research Excellence (Idaho INBRE) program, funded by the National Institutes of Health. CEI students participate as INBRE Scholars. The Idaho INBRE Program is an unprecedented statewide scientific network of research and educational collaborations. Our aim is to improve the health of all Idahoans by augmenting and strengthening Idaho’s capacity to do and sustain biomedical research and education.
At CEI we offer our INBRE students their first experience with real scientific research, teaching the scientific method, and building hands-on laboratory skills. This opportunity prepares students for laboratory research at the University level as well as for professional programs like Medical Laboratory Science. Students cap off their INBRE internship with a poster presentation at the Idaho INBRE Undergraduate Research Conference.
“Learning what it is to do lab research is eye-opening and addicting! Such an invaluable experience and the conference provided great networking while learning to present your own work.”
"The one-on-one experience I was able to obtain from my mentors. Utilizing their knowledge as an undergrad and learning directly under them was extremely valuable."
"I am now enthralled with the idea of continuing the pursuit of research due to this experience."
"This experience made me realize how much research and lab work is something I want to continue to do."
