CAD – Fundamentals of 3-D Modeling (Solidworks)
This 5 week-long course introduces students to fundamental principles and practices of Computer Aided Design (CAD). Students learn to create, modify, and document 2D sketches and 3D models. Emphasis is placed on design intent and techniques that allow for cross program knowledge.
Learning Outcomes -
At the end of this course, participants will be equipped with:
- The ability to explain the purpose and advantages of CAD
- The skills to navigate the CAD interface
- The knowledge to Create 2D Sketches
- The knowledge to Construct 3D models/parts
- The ability to use reference geometry
- The ability to interpret and modify CAD models
- The confidence to demonstrate proper CAD practices
Certification -
Students will leave the course with a Certificate of Completion from the College of Eastern Idaho WTCE. This course is for Professional Development and/or Personal Enrichment.
