The Complete Project Manager with CAPM® and PMP® Prep
Course Overview
This self-paced online course provides seasoned project managers with an in-depth overview of project management concepts and terminology. The course curriculum is broken into two main segments: the Project Management Essentials with CAPM® Prep and Mastering Project Management with PMP® Prep. Through a progression of online learning modules and instructor-moderated discussions, students will deepen their understanding of the practical applications of project management tools, methods, and processes. Students will leave class prepared to confidently navigate the project life cycle – from building a business case to closing the project – and to sit for the CAPM® and PMP® certification exams.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be equipped to:
- Explain the most common project management concepts and terminology, as well as Agile basics and principles
- Create project-driven budgets and timelines and predict and prevent associated risks
- Understand the essential elements of project management and execute a project from start to finish
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the CAPM® and PMP® exams offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Students must independently schedule and pay for the CAPM® and PMP® certification exams after course completion. If a student is already certified, the contact hours may be applied for the PMP® exam education prerequisite or as professional development units (PDUs). HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THIS COURSE?
This course is composed of approximately 250 course hours. After students register, they have one year to complete the course. Students can request a course extension through Ed2Go by contacting the student advising team. Please note that there may be a fee charged for course extensions.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
No. Payment is due in full at the time of registration for all WTCE classes. However, students may be able to arrange a payment plan with Ed2Go.
IS THERE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR THIS COURSE?
Yes. This course is approved for Idaho Launch funding, which may help cover up to 80% of the tuition cost.

IS THE COST OF THE EXAM INCLUDED IN THE COST OF TUITION?
No. You must schedule and pay for the CAPM® and PMP® certification exams on your own after course completion. If you are already certified, the contact hours may be applied for the PMP® exam education prerequisite or as professional development units (PDUs).
ARE THERE PREREQUISITES FOR THIS COURSE?
No. There are no prerequisites for enrolling in this course. However, it is important to note that there are eligibility requirements for the CAPM® and PMP® exams.
To qualify for the CAPM® exam, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Educational Background: Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate degree or the global equivalent)
- Project Management Education: 23 hours of project management education completed by the time you sit for the exam (this course meets the education requirement)
To qualify for the PMP® exam, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Project Management Education: You need a minimum of 35 hours of formal project management training (this course meets the education requirement).
- Project Management Experience/Educational Background: PMI® also requires project management experience in a leadership role. You do not have to have the title "project manager," but you do need to demonstrate that your experience is in a leadership role of some sort. In the exam application, you will document the number of months you personally performed project work.
- How much experience you need depends on your level of education. If you have a four-year degree or its equivalent from another country, you will need 36 months/3 years of project management experience. If you do not have a four-year college degree, you will need 60 months/5 years of project management experience.
