HAAS CNC Operators

This 4-week long course is designed to equip students with the fundamental skills needed to operate HAAS CNC machines. Students will dive into machine setup, tooling, programming, and maintenance, gaining hands-on experience in milling and turning operations. Upon successful completion, this program offers dual certification as a Mill and Lathe Operator, which are industry-recognized credentials from HAAS Automation, Inc.

Learning Outcomes -

At the end of this course, participants will be:

  1. Safety and Operation: Understanding safety protocols, and how to safely load/unload parts. 
  2. Control Mastery: Navigating the keypad on a Haas control, utilizing the Haas user interface. 
  3. Machine Setup: Setting up a Haas mill or lathe, including setting machine offsets and tools, as well as using the probe and tool setter.
  4. Programming Basics: Learning G-code fundamentals, subprograms, and macro programming. 
  5. Technical Knowledge: Reading blueprints, understanding tolerances, and basic shop math (decimal equivalents, metric/inch conversion). 
  6. Maintenance: Performing basic maintenance tasks, such as clearing chips, maintaining the coolant system, and cleaning filters.

Certification -

Upon successful completion, this program offers dual certification as a Mill and Lathe Operator, which are industry-recognized credentials from HAAS Automation, Inc.
