College of Eastern Idaho's College and Career Readiness Receives Grant from ProLiteracy to Expand ESL Access in Driggs
July 02, 2025
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (June 2025) — College of Eastern Idaho’s (CEI) College and Career Readiness (CCR) is proud to recognize its continued partnership with ProLiteracy, which awarded CCR a $5,000 grant in August 2024 to support the college’s English as a Second Language (ESL) efforts in Driggs, Idaho.
The funding helped maintain in-person ESL classes at CEI’s outreach location in Driggs—offering critical education access to adult learners who face transportation and distance barriers from Idaho Falls. This marks the third consecutive year CEI has offered ESL classes in the Driggs community.
Classes are held in the evenings at Teton High School, thanks to a partnership with the Teton County School District, which generously donates classroom space for CEI’s adult education programming. The grant also allowed CCR to transition students into online courses when in-person attendance wasn’t possible, ensuring continuous access to language support.
The partnership with ProLiteracy has had a tangible, local impact—strengthening CEI’s presence in Driggs and empowering adult learners through literacy education and skill-building opportunities.
