Idaho Falls — The process of turning Eastern Idaho Technical College into local community college is becoming closer to reality after a petition was submitted to Bonneville County on Friday.

Eastern Idaho Technical College will hold its 2016 Commencement Tuesday, May 10, at 7:00 PM, in the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium. Representative Wendy Horman will deliver the commencement address.

431 awards will be issued at EITC Commencement this year (236 Associate of Applied Science degrees/certificates and 195 General Education Development (GED) diplomas).

With four classroom and 16 instructors, a College of Southern Idaho satellite campus is the only
place to take a community college course in person in eastern Idaho.

Roughly 200 students attend the CSI Idaho Falls campus, which opened in 2014. At capacity, it could
serve about 600.
