101.1 Policy

College of Eastern Idaho ensures that the academic standards expected by students and the Board of Trustees are met in all approved programs and curricula at the institution through the Academic Standards Committee.

101.2 Procedures

The Academic Standards Committee serves as the curricular oversight body for the College of Eastern Idaho. To reference the charter, please contact the office of the Vice-President of Academic & Student Affairs.

The Academic Standards Committee’s primary function is to promote and maintain high academic standards that lead students to success at College of Eastern Idaho consistent with its overall mission. This is accomplished by approving programs and curricula offered at CEI that are relevant to identified community needs, having well-defined student learning competencies, assessing programs regularly and aligning curriculum to the expectations of students’ next steps. The Academic Standards Committee oversees the development and modification of programs, curricula, and assessment of student learning in a manner that recognizes the interconnected nature of these functions. The Academic Standards Committee is also responsible for maintaining curriculum to include any curricular changes that are approved by the committee.
